Woman Loses Benefit Through Tinder Dates
Woman Loses Benefit Through Tinder Dates. It would only happen to you, when you meet a nice man through Tinder, you have two dates and not long after you have lost your unemployment benefit. That happened to a woman in New Zealand, reported by eWorldNews.
The woman anonymously tells her story to the radio station RNZ. The woman is a single mother of three children. She told the supervisor of the benefits agency WINZ about two dates with a man she had met through Tinder. She also reported that the man had both paid the dates.
Relationship
“But I also told him that I had offered to pay for myself,” she says. The regulator did not have a message: if the man pays for her dates, she can count on him for money, and that is what WINZ regards as a relationship, he thought. The benefit could thus be stopped as far as he is concerned.
Since then, she has been in assistance, and she feels humiliated and stressed. “How they talk to me, that’s just very dirty,” she says. “Now I have a benefit, and they treat me like old dirt.”
Apologies
The responsible ministry has apologized and says that there is a misunderstanding: “We did not suspend her benefit because of the two dates, and we would never stop paying that.”
According to the ministry, the woman’s allowance was stopped because the ministry had been told that she was living with someone, had a mortgage with him and that they both had jobs. In addition, she would not have turned up on two appointments.
A story that does not make any sense according to the woman. “It seems like they are being covered in. My phone is always on, I check my e-mails and letters – I have not received anything from them.”
