China Leaves Nothing to Chance in the Fight Against Corona: Even the Groceries are Disinfected
Our shopping carts were disinfected, and we were advised to wash fruit and vegetables from the store properly. But, unfortunately, in China – where Covid-19 is currently making many victims again – nothing is left to chance.
The shopping carts and immediately all groceries are subjected to a thorough cleaning.
At department stores or at markets, such as in the photo here in Shanghai, there is a kind of disinfecting tents in which groceries are placed and disinfected. The product used does not give off any smell or taste, the authorities guarantee.
Shanghai has been in lockdown since March 28, after a new outbreak of corona. The measures are also being tightened in other Chinese cities.
