Trump Says May broke a Trade Agreement with Brexit Plans. US President Donald Trump warns the British government that they do not have to stake on a trade alliance with the United State if the plans for the Brexit are executed.

Trump made his statements in an interview with the British newspaper The Sun. The American president arrived in Great Britain on Thursday afternoon for a two-day working visit.

British Prime Minister Theresa May is working hard for a free trade agreement with the US to compensate for a decline in trade with the EU.

According to Trump, however, the Brexit plans are that his country should settle with the EU, which he considers unlikely.

“Because we already have enough problems with the European Union”, according to the president. “We are tackling the European Union.”

A spokesperson for May reports in response to the interview that the prime minister is looking forward to “discuss with the president”.

On Thursday, May announced in a document its plans for the Brexit. She seems to bet on a ‘soft Brexit’.

For example, free movement of persons must remain possible in part, if it is to reach an agreement on standards for food and other goods,

 and it proposes a customs agreement in which the UK will collect both British and European tariffs.

In the interview, Trump also discussed the departure of Boris Johnson as Minister of Foreign Affairs.

“Johnson is a great representative of the United Kingdom, he would be a good prime minister,” the president said.

Trump out of further criticism of European migration policy. “Conceding millions and millions of people to get to Europe is very, very sad,” he states. “You lose your culture.”
