Trump Defends Migrant Children and Families at the Border
US President Donald Trump defended his controversial immigration policy on Monday. According to Trump, separating children from their parents is “terrible and difficult,” but it is necessary to prevent the US from becoming “a migrant camp.”
Since mid-April, at least two thousand underage migrants have been separated from their parents and housed in detention facilities and foster families.
The American president blames the Democratic Party for the situation that has arisen. They stand in the way of reforms of the migration system, Trump said before a meeting of the National Space Council in the White House.
The remarks made by the American president are in line with the attack on the Democrats he did on Twitter on Monday.
