Advisers of the US Regulator are Examining Moderna Corona Vaccine
Independent advisers to the American drug watchdog FDA will discuss the corona vaccine from Moderna on Thursday.
The experts will then vote on whether the drug should be approved for use in the United States.
American media reports that the authoritative advisory committee is likely to give the green light for the use of the drug. The FDA then has the final say but generally adopts those experts’ recommendations.
The same happened recently when the advisers agreed to use the corona vaccine from the companies Pfizer and BioNTech.
The US has already started large-scale distribution of the latter vaccine. People are already vaccinated with this in the United Kingdom.
EU countries are still waiting for an opinion from the European Medicines Agency (EMA). That is expected to come first with a judgment on the Pfizer vaccine and later on the Moderna drug.
