Strict Lockdown Melbourne Ended on Wednesday
The strict lockdown in the Australian metropolis of Melbourne and parts of the state of Victoria will end after months on Wednesday.
The catering industry reopens, and people can leave their home without restrictions. Monday, for the first time since June 9, no new corona infection was detected.
The strict restrictions on public life took effect in early August in the state where 4.9 million people live. Last week, the restrictions were protested in Melbourne.
The central government was very critical of the draconian measures. Victoria residents are not allowed to travel further than 15 miles from their home until November 8.
