Harvey Weinstein Extradited to California
Harvey Weinstein is transferred to the US state of California. The fallen film producer, serving a 23-year prison sentence in New York for rape and sexual abuse, also has an abuse case in Los Angeles that could start with his extradition.
The lawyers for 69-year-old Weinstein tried to prevent him from being extradited. They believe that the film producer should stay in New York because he would suffer from health problems.
A judge ruled in their favour on Tuesday and ruled that Weinstein can travel to Los Angeles for the trial there, American media report. The film producer is expected to leave at the end of this month or next month.
