The technology company has obtained 20 to 25 companies in the last six months, Cook said Monday in an interview.

The technology company does not declare all purchases,

 because it often involves smaller companies and because Apple “is mainly looking for talent and intellectual property”.

“We buy everything we want and serve a strategic purpose,” said Cook.

Apple has 225.4 billion dollars in cash, according to the previous quarterly report.

It makes it one of the companies with the largest freely available cash reserves in the world.

In 2018, the purchase of the digital magazine subscription service Texture was one of the most striking.

It turned out to be a preparation for the Apple News + service that Apple later launched.

The company is not known for large acquisitions.

The largest company purchased by Apple in recent years was the audio device maker and music service Beats in 2014,

 for which it deposited 3 billion dollars.
