US House Approves $13.6 Billion for Ukraine
The US House of Representatives has approved $13.6 billion in aid for Ukraine. That’s part of a broader proposal on $1.5 trillion in government spending to avoid a US government shutdown.
US President Joe Biden originally asked Congress for $10 billion. However, to take decisive action against Russia, Congress has agreed to make more money available for Ukraine.
Part of the amount is intended for the defence of the Eastern European country, and another part goes to humanitarian aid for refugees.
The plans still need to be approved by the US Senate in the coming days. He is expected to agree to the proposal.
