Spain to Reopen Embassy in Kyiv
The Spanish embassy in the Ukrainian capital Kyiv is operational again. Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez has told Spanish channel Antena3 TV that the reopening will occur sometime in the coming days.
Like many other countries, Spain closed its embassy in Kyiv at the beginning of the Russian invasion. With the reopening, Spain wants to show that the country supports the Ukrainian people, according to Sánchez.
France and Italy, among others, have already decided to reopen the doors of their embassies.
Russian forces have moved out of the Kyiv area and are now targeting the eastern regions of Luhansk and Donetsk while bombarding other areas with rockets. After several weeks of relative calm, Kyiv has again been attacked from the air in recent days.
