Hong Kong Police Arrested Dozens of Activists During Protest Actions
Hong Kong police arrested dozens of activists during protest actions. Hundreds of people took to the streets in the city of millions on Tuesday evening.
They also sometimes blocked roads.
The police eventually intervened and said they arrested 36 men and seventeen women.
Demonstrators allegedly violated a ban on gathering brought about by the corona crisis. Public gatherings with more than eight people are not allowed.
More protests are planned for the next few days in the former British Crown Colony, which has been part of the People’s Republic of China since 1997.
Residents of Hong Kong have more freedoms than people in other parts of the country, but protesters are increasingly restricting them.
