Airbus Threatens to Leave the United Kingdom if there is a Strong Brexit. The European aircraft manufacturer Airbus is threatening to leave Great Britain if that country is leaving the European Union without a trade agreement with the EU.

Airbus will take a cautious look at new investments in the United Kingdom as a result of an assessment of the risks of such a Brexit and no longer extend the relationships with suppliers and partners in the country.

British media writes Friday that company leaders in much clearer terms have apprised British Prime Minister Theresa May that the company will move production elsewhere if a Brexit without deal comes with Brussels.

According to a company executive, Tom Williams, this is “no doom thinking, but a threatening reality, because a scenario without a deal simply warns the future of Airbus in the United Kingdom”.

Alarming wording
Fourteen thousand people work at Airbus in Great Britain, and the company’s operations account for an estimated 110,000 other jobs.

For the British tax authorities, Airbus accounts for almost 1 billion pounds per year.

Since the referendum on the Brexit in June 2016, hardly any such alarming statements by a large international company about the Brexit have reported.

According to Williams, chief at Airbus Commercial Aircraft, the worst is not the Brexit itself, but the political confusion about it.

Williams complains that the company has been trying in vain for twelve months. “Airbus understands that the political process must take place,

 but as a responsible company, we must immediately have detailed information about the Brexit to be able to take practical steps to remain competitive.”
