China Takes Steps to Ensure Power Supply
In China, measures are being taken to guarantee power supply to households and to prevent power cuts. There is a power shortage in many parts of the country.
The power supply problems in the country are the result of rising demand for electricity, coupled with rising coal and gas prices and Beijing’s stricter regulations to reduce emissions.
State-owned utility State Grid Corporation of China, China’s largest power distributor, says it is “doing everything it can” to ensure power supply. This strengthens the distribution of power from the entire network. The company will also look at where it can get more power from.
Furthermore, the monitoring of electricity consumption will be improved, and the needs of households will be better identified.
Several companies, especially in the important industrial regions in the east and south of the country, are affected by the shortages. Meanwhile, more and more households are facing problems, also in other regions of the country.
