Bill Gates Willing to Invest Billions in the US Infrastructure Plan
Microsoft founder Bill Gates promises to invest almost 1.3 billion euros in projects in the US through his climate fund if the US government approves the program to reduce CO2 emissions.
The US Congress is currently considering that colossal investment plan.
Earlier this week, the Senate already approved a plan to pump $1,200 billion into infrastructure improvements. Of that amount, billions of dollars should be funnelled into the Department of Energy for projects to combat climate change. But, unfortunately, the House of Representatives has yet to have its say.
According to Gates, if enacted into legislation, the plan will reduce pollutant emissions and create many jobs.
The ambitious plan foresees, among other things, 550 billion dollars in spending on public transport, broadband internet and clean water. In addition, the money will be spent on improving electric charging infrastructure and other measures to combat climate change.
Gates’ climate fund would spend $1.5 billion over three years to eliminate greenhouse gas emissions. The investments would focus on the development of green jet fuel, hydrogen and long-term energy storage.
