Russia Reports Record Deaths and Corona Infections
Russia reported a record number of deaths and new coronavirus infections on Tuesday.
Health authorities stated that 569 reports of new deaths had been received in the past 24 hours. The official death toll from corona thus came to 40,464.
The country registered 26,402 new infections over the past 24 hours, of which 6,524 in the capital Moscow.
Since the start of the pandemic, Russia has identified at least 2.3 million infections.
Russia has begun to vaccinate citizens in Moscow. The first Sputnik V vaccines against the coronavirus were delivered to a hospital just south of Moscow last week, authorities said Monday.
