In Germany, the 1 millionth corona infection was determined on Thursday, according to figures from the Robert Koch Institute (RKI), the German equivalent of the RIVM.

For the fourth day in a row, the number of new corona infections detected in the last 24 hours in Germany has risen sharply.

The RKI reported 22,805 new cases on Friday, more than 500 more than 24 hours earlier. 22,268 new infections were registered on Thursday,

In the past 24 hours, 426 people in Germany died from Covid-19, compared to 389 the day before. The total official death toll from the lung virus so far stands at 15,586.
