Apple Reimburses Users Who Have Replaced A Battery
Apple Reimburses Users who have Replaced a Battery in 2017. Apple offers owners of an iPhone that in 2017 the battery of their device has replaced a fee of 70 dollars. The American company announced this on Wednesday.
The fee is only available to users who have replaced the battery of their iPhone 6 or newer in 2017 outside the warranty.
Battery replacement must have taken place at Apple or an authorised replacement point.
The payment of the procedure must take place between 1 January and 28 December 2017.
Users can have the 70 dollars to their bank account or credit card.
Criticism
Apple was criticised last year when it became known that the company was declining the performance of iPhones 6 or newer if the battery could not handle the peak moments.
By reducing performance at these times, Apple wanted to make sure that the phone could not just drop out.
On December 28, Apple apologised. As a compensation, the company lowered the price to replace the battery from 104 dollars to 33 dollars.
The scheme is valid until 31 December 2018. Only the affected models, iPhone 6 or newer, are eligible for the price reduction.
