The Portuguese Government has Issued an Emergency Order because of the Strike of Tank Truck Drivers
The Portuguese Government has issued an emergency order because of the strike of tank truck drivers. The authorities want to force the strikers to make sufficient deliveries.
This is to prevent the Lisbon airport and individual petrol stations from running out of fuel.
The tanker drivers have put down the work at the height of the tourist season because they demand better salaries and working conditions.
In the run-up to the strike, the Government had said fuel deliveries should at least partially continue.
The authorities had also put rations on fuel. About a third of the gas stations were entirely or partially without fuel on Monday evening, reports a specialized website.
