Russia Closes Sea of Azov to Commercial Shipping
Russia has suspended commercial shipping in the Sea of Azov. A strait connects the inland sea to the Black Sea, and the northern shore is Ukrainian.
Grain producers were the first to report the closure of the sea to shipping.
Russia is the largest grain exporter globally, and much grain is exported via cargo ships via the Black Sea.
The Russian authorities have confirmed that commercial shipping in the Azov Sea is not allowed for the time being.
