John Torode Leaves MasterChef After Racist Language

British presenter John Torode will not return to the British version of MasterChef. The BBC has announced that the co-presenter’s contract will not be renewed.
The British MasterChef program came under fire late last year after presenter Gregg Wallace was accused of misconduct. A report by a law firm upheld 45 allegations against Wallace. Earlier this week, it was announced that Wallace would not return to the BBC program.
A BBC spokesperson referred to a statement from Torode, who confirmed on Monday that he had been accused of racist language. “This allegation – involving the use of an extremely offensive racist term in the workplace – was investigated and confirmed by an independent investigation,” the spokesperson stated.
The BBC takes this observation extremely seriously. We do not tolerate racist language in any form and, as we have said before, we have told the producers of MasterChef that action must be taken. John Torode’s contract with MasterChef will not be renewed.
