France on Track for 15 Million Vaccinees at the End of June
France will receive enough corona vaccines in the coming period to have 15 million people fully vaccinated by the end of June.
Minister of Industry Agnès Pannier-Runacher says in conversation with television channel LCI that enough doses of the vaccines are still coming in to meet the demand.
About 67 million people live in France. The country has been badly affected by the coronavirus, with at least 3.6 million infections and a registered death toll of more than 85,000.
Pannier-Runacher also says it’s essential to approve even more vaccines for use in Europe, if possible. “Once it has been established that a drug is safe and effective, it must be approved. It doesn’t matter whether it is European, Chinese or Russian.”
According to the minister, no request for approval has yet been submitted to the European Medicines Agency (EMA) for the Russian vaccine Sputnik-V. “The Russian vaccine is not that easy to understand, which makes it probably not suitable for the European market.”
