Number of New Infections in Germany is Increasing Again After Decreasing
The number of new coronavirus infections detected in Germany in the past 24 hours is increasing again after a few days of decline.
The Robert Koch Institute (RKI), the German counterpart of the RIVM, reported 13,202 new infections on Wednesday morning, more than double the number on Tuesday.
The number of new infections in Germany has decreased since last Thursday. It is the usual trend in Germany to report lower numbers during and just after the weekend and higher numbers as the week goes on.
A total of 2,121,279 corona infections have been diagnosed in the eastern neighbours since the pandemic outbreak.
In the past 24 hours, a further 982 people in the Federal Republic died from Covid-19. The total number of corona deaths is now at 53,972.
