Iran Seeks Improved Relations with Gulf Neighbours

Iran has signalled its willingness to improve ties with Gulf countries, calling for new trade and security arrangements.

At a regional summit in Oman, Iranian officials proposed joint infrastructure projects, including electricity sharing and cross-border transport links.

Observers say this marks a notable shift in Tehran’s foreign policy, driven partly by economic pressures and partly by shifting global alliances. While scepticism remains high, Gulf states are showing cautious interest, particularly in boosting trade and easing regional tensions.
