Hot Air Balloon Makes An Emergency Landing On A German Highway
Hot Air Balloon makes an Emergency Landing on a German Highway. A balloonist has made an emergency landing on a motorway in the German state of North Rhine-Westphalia on Saturday with his hot air balloon.
Because drivers on the A61 at Viersen could brake in time, nobody was injured.
According to the traffic police in Düsseldorf, the balloonist had to make an emergency landing due to a technical defect to the burner of the balloon.
Both lanes are temporarily closed. A police spokesman stated that it only took four minutes to store the balloon and to dispose of it. The crew consisted only of the balloonist.
