The EU and the African Union have signed a landmark trade partnership agreement aimed at boosting economic cooperation and reducing dependency on external markets.
The deal covers areas such as renewable energy, digital infrastructure, and food security, and is expected to generate billions in cross-continental investment.
European officials see the pact as an opportunity to deepen ties with Africa while countering growing Chinese influence on the continent.
African leaders, meanwhile, have welcomed the agreement but stress the need for fairer trade terms and stronger commitments to job creation.
