Spain Only Counts Corona Deaths After Proven Contamination
In Spain, the death toll from the coronavirus is approaching 19,500. 585 patients died of the disease in the past 24 hours.
The Ministry of Health announced this on Friday.
Due to a controversial adjustment of the registration criteria – only the deaths after a positive test for corona are counted – that number is difficult to compare with previous days.
Officially, there are now 19,478 corona deaths in Spain after proven contamination. Catalonia and the Madrid region have been hardest hit.
The authorities there believe that the actual death toll is undoubtedly several thousand higher.
