Nadal Back in Second Place in the World Ranking After Tournament Win
Tennis player Rafael Nadal is back in second place in the world ranking.
The Spaniard owes this to his tournament win in Barcelona, where he beat the Greek Stefanos Tsitsipas in an exciting and long final on Sunday. It was already the twelfth time that Nadal won the Barcelona tournament.
The Russian Daniil Medvedev dropped from second to the third position and now has 110 points less than 34-year-old Nadal, who starts as a favourite at Roland Garros at the end of May.
Nadal has now won 61 tournaments on clay, making it more than a record holder. The Argentinian Guillermo Vilas achieved 49 tournament victories on that surface.
Serbian Novak Djokovic still leads the global ranking. Tallon Griekspoor is the best Dutchman in 143rd place.
