Farmers across several EU countries, including France, the Netherlands, and Spain, have staged mass protests against stricter environmental regulations.
The new rules, aimed at reducing fertiliser use and protecting biodiversity, have been criticised for increasing costs and threatening livelihoods.
Protesters have blocked roads, ports, and city centres, demanding financial compensation and a slower rollout of reforms. Brussels has promised to engage in dialogue but insists that sustainable agriculture is “non-negotiable” for the future of Europe.
