Boeing Reduces Losses and Delivers Significantly More Aircraft

American aircraft manufacturer Boeing reduced its losses in the first quarter of this year and achieved higher revenues than a year earlier.
The company benefited from significantly increased commercial aircraft deliveries after production processes were hampered by stricter quality requirements and increased supervision following a series of technical problems with Boeing aircraft.
The net loss was 123 million dollars, compared to 343 million dollars in the first three months of last year. Revenues rose by 18 percent to 19.5 billion dollars.
Boeing delivered 130 aircraft to customers, compared to 83 units a year earlier. Boeing also said it is sticking to plans to increase production of the 737 MAX to 38 per month this year. Monthly output of the 787 Dreamliner is expected to rise to seven this year.
