Russia Says Ukraine Prepared Attack on Donbas
The Russian Defense Ministry says it has classified documents that show Ukraine intended to attack separatists in the east.
Ukraine wanted to recapture the pro-Russian self-proclaimed republics of Donetsk and Luhansk in the Donbas region. However, it is not clear what kind of documents are involved, and the statement cannot be verified.
Over the weekend, the Donetsk separatists reported that they had captured secret attack plans from a computer in an office of the right-wing extremist party in southern Donetsk province.
According to the separatists, the Ukrainian attack is expected to start on March 8.
