The inquiry is focused on concerns that big tech firms are stifling competition through acquisitions and restrictive app store policies.
Lawmakers in Congress have also renewed calls for stricter regulations to ensure fair competition in the digital economy. Industry lobbyists, however, argue that overregulation could hinder innovation and weaken America’s global tech leadership.
